Молитва об укреплении ума — третья из десяти молитв «Нового искусства», второй части латинской книги «Арс нотория» XIII века. В отличие от молитвы о разумении и молитвы о даровании ума и памяти, она просит не знания, а крепости ума, который знание удержит. Прошения её — о прибавлении ума и разумения, о твёрдости в заповедях. Просит она и о теле: расплавить внутренности, препоясать чресла, вложить в правую руку жезл.

Исповедуюсь Тебе ныне — я, виновный и недостойный, — / Боже, Отче неба и земли, / Создателю всех творений видимых и невидимых, / Раздаятелю и Подателю всякой добродетели и благодати благой. / Ты скрываешь премудрость Твою и знание от гордых и отверженных, / уповающих на себя, а не на величие Твоё.
Смири ныне сердце моё, / соделай твёрдыми разумение моё и ум мой, / а совесть мою — любящей Тебя, / и приумножь уразумение моё, / и ныне запечатлей на мне свет лица Твоего, Господи,
дабы всецело обновился я / и стал разумен и твёрд в заповедях Твоих, / и, очищенный от мёртвых дел и от грехов моих, / преуспел в писаниях святых, / которые сохранил Ты для одних лишь верующих в Тебя.

Воззри, Господи, и вникни ныне в труд ума моего, / и да будет воля Твоя благая во мне. / С неба на землю пошли мне Утешителя, Духа Святого: / да оградит Он меня твёрдостью непрестанной / и подаст мне ныне и впредь помощь и защиту, / дабы уразумел я писания, которых желаю.

I confesse my self guilty this day before thee Oh God, Father of Heaven and Earth, Maker of all things, visible and invisible, of all Creatures, Dispenser and Giver of all grace and virtue; who hidest wisdome and knowledge from the proud and wicked, and givest it to the faithful and humble; illuminate my Heart, and establish my Conscience and understanding: set the light of thy countenance upon me, that I may love thee, and be established in the knowledge of my understanding, that I being cleansed from evil works, may attain to the knowledge of those Sciences, which thou hast reserved for believers.
